Big or small, young or old, Good Morning Tree Service has the knowledge and expertise to keep your central Texas trees looking their best.
Trimming & Pruning Young Trees
For younger trees, as well as certain small flowering and fruit trees, we concentrate on corrective pruning and thinning of live branches to improve the branch structure as well as to enhance the overall beauty of the tree. When doing tree trimming in Austin and Central Texas, Good Morning Tree Service looks for opportunities to correct poorly attached branches, twin trunks, and other structural problems through early tree pruning.
BEFORE: These young trees in Leander had started to grow into each other, and were encroaching on the driveways.
AFTER: We trimmed the trees to improve their structure. They are healthier now – they are getting more sunlight, they have more room to grow properly, and they are more beautiful.
Trimming & Pruning Mature Trees
For most mature trees, we prune to remove dead, dying or diseased branches. This improves the tree’s health and appearance. This type of pruning also reduces the risk of damage. Dead or weak branches can fall or break off during storms, and large branches can cause significant personal injury or property damage.
For some mature trees, Good Morning Tree Service will thin live branches to improve the appearance of the tree, to allow more sunlight through to the yard below, or to reduce branch weight. It is also common for us to prune low branches to increase the clearance of a tree over walkways or buildings.

Great experience with Good Morning Tree service. I’ve been trimming the tree myself. and this was the first time to hire a tree service. During the estimate, I had good consulting on how best to trim the tree and Tracy pointed out issues with the tree that I hadn’t considered. This is great expert consulting. They guys were schedule to arrive at 9 on Monday, they were there at 8:55 ready to go! Their team trimmed the tree, cleaned up the moss, and were asking again to make sure before cutting. I even asked for some additional cuts that they were happy to make. They then sprayed over the cuts and cleaned up the yard debris and gave me some additional firewood. Great job, highly recommend them.

Tree Trimming: Roof and Structure Clearing
Safe clearance consists of pruning trees so as to prevent damage to structures by contact with tree limbs. Where possible, live oak limbs are pruned to 3 feet from any structure, and other species will be pruned as far back as 4 feet. This allows enough space between trees and structures that, with normal growth, the procedure should not need repeating for at least three years.
We recommend removing dangerous limbs above your roof, and clearing your roof from limbs 2-6 feet back, to remove the highway for rodents and prevent damage to shingles.
Tree Debris: Hauling and Removal
No Hassle Clean-up. We collect all tree trimming and tree pruning debris, and haul everything to an off-site location in Austin, TX, for recycling and proper disposition:
If you have any debris you’ve cut down yourself, we may be able to help you remove those as well. Ask your estimator for more information.
Tree Debris: Firewood
We may be able to turn your debris into proper firewood to use during a cold winter evening. If you’re interested in firewood, remember to let us know in advance, as live trees need to be dried and seasoned before they can be used.
Average Tree Trimming & Pruning Cost
$400 – $6,000
The cost to trim or prune a tree depends on the size and age of the tree, and the type of service that is required. It takes extra time and care to safely remove limbs which are close to power lines or large limbs overhanging buildings.
The cost of tree pruning also depends on the type of trimming required. We can safely and professionally raise your tree’s canopy, or thin the canopy to allow more light into your yard for grass and the tree’s branches. Dead or dangerous limbs should always be removed, to make sure they don’t fall during a storm, and cause damage. Removing dead limbs also helps the tree by promoting new growth.
Note that many central Texas municipalities restrict oak tree trimming and pruning from early spring through late summer to prevent the spread of oak wilt disease. The best time for routine pruning of your central Texas oak tree is during the cold winter months. However, if you notice rubbing branches, rips, or breaks in the limbs, those should be treated immediately to prevent open wounds.
